Research limits
Risk Disclosure
This Risk Disclosure supplements our Terms of Service and FAQ. Please read it carefully before relying on Avuril reports or alerts.
No visibility guarantees
Avuril evaluates technical accessibility signals — robots.txt directives, llms.txt presence, server responses to known crawler user agents, page structure, and a surface set of public HTTP security signals (headers, cookie flags, well-known paths). Passing every check does not guarantee that any specific AI system will cite, rank, summarize, or send traffic to your website, nor that the site is secure. Crawler behavior is controlled by third parties and can change without notice.
Not a penetration test
Surface-security and agent-surface findings are deterministic rules over publicly reachable responses. Avuril does not authenticate, fuzz, inject, brute-force, or otherwise exploit a target. Cookie values, secret file bodies, and API key material beyond a short prefix are not stored. A missing header, an exposed /.env, or a credential prefix in public JavaScript is evidence of a public configuration issue, not a complete security audit. Do not treat a Avuril grade as a certification, insurance evidence, or a substitute for a professional assessment.
Research only
Avuril is strictly an educational and research platform. Scores, grades, findings, and alerts are deterministic research outputs generated by fixed rules applied to public data. They are not SEO, marketing, legal, or business advice, and they are not tailored to your situation. No output from Avuril constitutes a recommendation to block, allow, license, or charge for any crawler access. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on the reports.
No affiliation
Avuril is an independent software provider with no affiliation to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Meta, Cloudflare, or any other crawler operator or CDN provider. User-agent classifications reflect our own categorization of publicly documented crawlers and may differ from how those operators classify themselves.
Data quality and availability
Avuril uses public endpoints and published bot directories. Data may be incomplete, delayed, or temporarily unavailable. Network outages, rate limits, WAF challenges, geo-restrictions, and upstream changes can affect scan results. A "blocked" verdict reflects what our scanner observed at scan time and may not reproduce for all clients or regions.
Point-in-time snapshots
Every report describes your site as it existed during the scan. Content deploys, configuration changes, and third-party services can alter crawler access minutes after a scan completes. Monitoring reduces but does not eliminate blind spots between scans.
Third-party crawler behavior
robots.txt directives are voluntary signals. Compliant crawlers may honor them; non-compliant scrapers ignore them entirely. Allowing a crawler does not obligate its operator to send referrals, pay licensing fees, or use your content in any particular way.
Your responsibility
You alone decide how to configure robots.txt, llms.txt, firewalls, and content rendering. Avuril is not responsible for traffic changes, revenue impacts, or disputes with third parties resulting from actions you take. For billing questions, see our Refund Policy.
